This is the most popular question i get. From people with natural hair, relaxed hair, transitioning, bald, locs, you name it. If you don’t know where to start just keep the following steps in mind. Start with the less complicated —-> SHAMPOO with sulfate free shampoo, DEEP CONDITION with heat, MOISTURIZE with water based moisturizer/leave in conditioner. Then when you have gotten your feet wet your can begin to experiment with other steps. These are the basic steps:
- Protect your hair from the harsh shampooing process by applying coconut oil to your hair before shampooing. Wear your shower cap and sit for 30min or you can even sleep overnight
- Shampoo with a mild shampoo, i usually recommend sulfate free shampoo because they are less harsh and stripping to the hair.
- No matter the deep conditioner you use, make sure you apply some heat. Either sit under a hooded dryer, a steamer or use a blow dryer.
- Try and style your hair without heat. This means no flat iron, tongs etc and if you need to use a blow dryer use it at the lowest heat.
Extra tip. KEEP YOUR HAIR MOISTURIZED
